Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling martial art that focuses on the skills needed to take an opponent to the ground, control the opponent, gain a dominant position, and force them into compliance or submission via joint locks or a chokehold. This knowledge can be used to subdue and control an opponent with the appropriate level of force required for the circumstances.

Control and overcoming greater size, strength, and aggression with lesser size and strength is the key to both the success and growing popularity of BJJ. This is done by utilizing superior leverage, grip, and position upon your opponent.

As BJJ students begin their training, they will focus on a curriculum of fundamentals, essential to building a solid foundation upon which to grow. Classes include solo and partner drills, technical instruction, Q&A, situational drills, and frequent sparring in the gi and no gi.

Students benefit from increased physical fitness, problem-solving ability, self-knowledge of their body and mind, and working within a large group of like-minded teammates as they learn and have fun together. Join us today!
